FAQs for the curious
What is this? It is a real-time feedback tool which will enable you to anonymously provide feedback to the meeting organiser either during or at the end of the meeting
What is involved in downloading the App? Setting up the App is very quick and easy. The video below will show you how easy it is to be up and running
Why give meeting feedback? Statistically, meetings average less than 50% effectiveness, but this is more easily seen by attendees than by organisers. Inspirometer enables the organiser to see the impact of their meeting on their attendees, and to either receive recognition, or to recognise potential for improvement.
Does it work? Most people want to do a good job, and use their time productively. This form of feedback helps people to be more successful, to save time, and to make things more enjoyable. Yes, it works.
Why not use verbal feedback? You can, and we would encourage that you do, but the reality is that most people don’t unless there is a real issue. People can quickly, easily and anonymously use this tool for even the smallest of thanks, ideas or concerns, even if they are busy. And the result gets trended automatically so that your host can improve things over time.
Can I use it for my own meetings? Certainly you can – simply go to http://Inspirometer.com and follow the links from there.
What happens if I don’t download the app? Nothing really. It will mean that your feedback will need to be conventional, and if you are busy, or it is minor, it probably won’t happen (unless the organiser enables some form of follow-up feedback e.g. via email)
Is it right to give feedback on someone else? Actually you are not. You are giving feedback on yourself, and what you got out of the meeting, which may be due to many other factors than the meeting organiser. For more on this, please read: guidance on giving/receiving meeting feedback
FAQs for the cautious
Is it safe? Totally. The Inspirometer system is securely hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform, which is one of the most secure forms of storage available. By downloading the App from your mobile store, you have the confidence that it has been properly tested to be free from any malware.
Does it cost anything? No, the App is totally free, and it is also free from advertising. It is provided as a service to the organisers of meetings (who do pay a fee) so that they are able to track and improve their meeting effectiveness – as perceived by their attendees..
Is it anonymous? Your details are not associated with your feedback in any way. Your host cannot use our system to identify who gave which response or comment. However, if you put ‘this is Jo’ in a comment, or provide feedback where you are the only attendee, there is a chance (despite the anonymity of the tool) that you may be identified.
Why do you need my email? Your email address enables us to do two things – the first is to provide you with secure access to your account, and the second is to ensure we match you up with the correct meeting at the appropriate time (based on the information in the meeting invite)
Will I receive unwanted emails? No. We follow GDPR guidance on the use of emails, and do not pass them on to any third party. Your email will only be used for the purposes defined above, or for matters directly related to your account.
What happens to my data? Your personal data is limited only to your email address and password. These are held securely in our application until such time as you instruct us to close your account, at which time your private information will be immediately and securely expunged.
How secure is my data? All transfer of information occurs through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Your password is one-way encrypted to Sharp256 standard. Microsoft have placed stringent security practices around our data and our system. All that is left is for you to select a strong password and keep it secure.
How do I get out of this? If you wish us to close your account and delete your personal data, simply send us an email from your authorised email account, with a subject of: Delete Account, and your account will be closed and personal data expunged within 10 working days.
Get ready to provide meeting feedback
To load the App on your own mobile device, simply click on the logo below to go to the relevant store, and then select to install it.
The App provides easy access to give and receive feedback for all participants in a meeting.
Once you have installed your App, it will ask you to register your email address and Inspirometer will automatically synchronise your App to any meetings which have been set-up for feedback. Please make sure you use the email address by which you have been invited to the meeting.
Once installed, feedback is as simple as opening the app and clicking on the faces. The short (2 minute) video below helps illustrate the process.
