You got the following message: Inspirometer encountered something unexpected in one or more items of your Outlook data. As a result, you may notice temporary inconsistencies in your stats. If you see this message again, please click the more info button for guidance on correcting the issue and send us the log file so we may be able to help.
What has happened?
Inspirometer has struggled to read or interpret a piece of data because it was not in a form that it was expecting. As a result, it has done what it can and logged the rest so that the information can help us find a better way of handing this exception.
What are the implications?
Where this relates to an item that is new or changed, your Inspirometer data may temporarily reflect an incomplete picture of your Calendar. It is very unlikely that anything more serious will ensue.
Why did this happen?
There are a number of reasons that Inspirometer struggles to read or interpret Outlook data. The most common of these are:
- Temporary glitches in the infrastructure or the internet
- Unresolved errors or minor corruptions in your outlook data file
- Invitees with email addresses which are not on your system or cannot be resolved
- A component required by Outlook or the add-in has not loaded correctly this time around
- An unanticipated bug in Inspirometer, or something we have not thought of (yet)
What can I do about it?
Some of these issues naturally resolve themselves when you restart Outlook or your machine. Others may require you to repair your Outlook file if it has become damaged for some reason (Your IT team can help you with this if required). Still others may need some help or input from the Inspirometer support team.
Over time, we have become familiar with many different exceptions and we have found ways to accommodate them without bothering the user. However, we continually encounter new ones, and we are dependent on our users to send us their log files so that we can learn from them and develop approaches to capture as much as we can from the situation. Please send us your log file.
We may have already been alerted to this issue. If so the fix will be available in the latest version of the Inspirometer. You can check for updates on your Inspirometer settings page. To reduce the risk of future glitches, please ensure you accept updates when they become available.
